Regenerative aesthetic medicine on the Costa Brava

← Back to Blog

Aesthetic medicine has undergone a real revolution in recent years. We have moved from treatments focused only on "filling" or "paralysing" muscles to a new generation of therapies that regenerate the skin from within. Facial bioregeneration is today the great advance of regenerative aesthetic medicine in Palamós and Girona.

At Clínica Eupnea, on Palamós seafront, we offer the most innovative treatments to improve skin quality, slow ageing and achieve natural and lasting results without altering facial features.

Key takeaways

  • Bioregeneration regenerates skin from within, without altering features
  • PRP uses your own blood to stimulate collagen
  • Polynucleotides (salmon DNA) repair cells at genetic level
  • Skinboosters deeply hydrate with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid
  • Results are progressive, natural and last 12 to 24 months

What is facial bioregeneration?

Facial bioregeneration is the set of medical treatments that induce the natural regeneration of the skin: production of type I and III collagen, elastin, endogenous hyaluronic acid, fibroblasts and new blood vessels. Unlike corrective treatments (filler or Botox), biostimulators don't add volume nor paralyse: they teach the skin to regenerate itself.

The result is denser, brighter, more hydrated and firmer skin, with a progressive and very natural effect lasting 12 to 24 months.

Biostimulators vs hyaluronic acid vs Botox

  • Botox (botulinum toxin): relaxes muscles to erase expression lines
  • Hyaluronic acid (filler): immediate volume for cheeks, lips, chin or folds
  • Biostimulators: stimulate your own collagen production and regenerate tissue

PRP: platelet-rich plasma

PRP facial involves a blood draw, centrifugation to separate platelet-rich plasma and facial micro-injection. Platelets release growth factors that stimulate fibroblasts and collagen production.

Ideal for dull skin, early wrinkles, dark circles, hair loss. 3 initial sessions 4-6 weeks apart.

Polynucleotides: pure cellular regeneration

Polynucleotides (purified salmon DNA derivatives) are a major innovation. They act directly on the cell, repairing DNA and stimulating collagen and elastin. Excellent safety profile.

Indicated for: dark circles, very thin or sun-damaged skin, early wrinkles, post-surgery or post-laser recovery.

Collagen biostimulators: Sculptra, Radiesse

Poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra) and calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse) stimulate massive collagen production. Ideal for restoring lost facial volume without artificial filling.

Skinboosters: deep hydration

Skinboosters are micro-injections of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (Profhilo, Restylane Vital, NCTF) that hydrate the skin from the dermis, improving elasticity, luminosity and texture — the famous "glow effect" without changing features.

Personalised protocols by age

  • 20-30: prevention. Annual skinboosters + daily SPF
  • 30-40: first wrinkles. PRP, polynucleotides, preventive Botox
  • 40-50: redensify. Collagen biostimulators + skinboosters + targeted filler
  • 50+: global combined protocol
